A water-managed Class
PB EIFS system uses a
secondary air/weather
barrier to provide a cost-effective,
added level of protection
to the sheathing and cavity
against moisture and air
intrusion. It offers design
flexibility, aesthetic
appeal and energy savings.
Integrated system components
include reinforced air/weather
resistive barrier, adhesive,
EPS insulation board,
reinforced base coat and
100% acrylic polymer finish.
Apply the system directly
to acceptable sheathings:
PermaBase brand cement
board (or other ASTM C1325
Type A Exterior approved
cement boards), poured
concrete/unit masonry,
Fiberock AquaTough Sheathing,
Dens-Glass Gold sheathing
(ASTM c1177) gypsum sheathing
(AST C79/C1396), Exposure
1 or exterior plywood
sheathing (Grade C-D or
better), Exposure 1 OSB.
Wall
systems have passed rigorous
tests including:
|
|
• Full-Scale Fire
• Wind-Load
• Wind-Driven Rain
and Large and Small Missiles.
Finishes
are available in a limitless
color selection and offer
performance enhancement
options, including increased
resistance to dirt pick-up
and mildew. [back

Stucco, or portland cement
plaster, is a versatile
facing material that can
be applied to flat or
curved surfaces either
inside or outside any
building or structure.
Stucco has great appeal
as a surface finish because
of its utility, low first
cost and minimum need
for maintenance.
In its
hardened state, plaster
is a desirable facing
material: hard, strong,
fire-resistant and color-retentive.
Because plaster is able
to transmit moisture vapor,
water that gets behind
it does not become trapped.
This makes it resistant
to rot and fungus. Plaster
has proved to be a durable
wall cover in all climates,
whether wet, dry, hot,
or cold.
The
final appearance of the
finish coat can be varied
by changing the size and
shape of the aggregate,
using colored cement,
adding pigments, changing
the consistency of the
finish mix, the method
or equipment used for
plastering and the plasterer's
skill in manipulating
the finish coat. [back

Manufactured
Stone is a decorative building
material manufactured to replicate
the look of natural stone. It
is fabricated by pouring a lightweight
concrete mix to rubber forms
of different style and then
painted with a coloring process
which makes it resemble real
stone. The stone veneer produced
is then attached to walls with
special mortars.
The advantages
of manufactured stone veneer
over natural stone are:
- cost (cost
of material, cost of application,
waste cost)
- weight
(ease and cost of application)
- variety
of designs and colours
Manufactured
veneer is cheaper than natural
stone, approximately 1/3 to
1/2 the cost of natural stone.
Its light weight eliminates
the need for wall ties or footings
and make it easier and cheaper
to build. Furthermore, manufactured
stone has a significantly smaller
waste factor than natural stone.
The variety of designs and colours
makes available options which
would not be available with
natural stone, since natural
stone is used in the general
area around the locality which
it is extracted.
Caulking is
a term used to describe several
different process to seal joints
or seams in various structures
and certain types of piping.
Sealing unwanted leaks around
homes is an excellent way to
cut home energy costs and decrease
the household carbon footprint.
Also, sealing
cracks and crevices around homes
puts less strain on home appliances
and can save time, money and
hassle by preventing major repairs.
Additionally, increasing the
lifetime of homes and appliances
also puts less waste and pollution
into landfills.
